Cidade-Online

Wow, long time no update!  Well, it's finally here, brought to you very nicely by our new patcher we have been using, dispatcher.  All items now have weight, which will burden your character and cause you to move slower if you are carrying a lot of heavy items.  However, if you aren't carrying much weight, you can move quicker than you could before!

Your average level is a key factor in determining how fast you will be able to move as well, so make sure to get those levels high!  One excellent way to do this in a fun way that can earn you excellent rewards is in the minigame Skill Stock that we released previously.

Some annoying glitches have also been resolved.  If your character runs off the side of the screen while using a skill, it should now automatically stop itself.  Also, when lumberjacking in Dark Village, you will now go toward the desired tree instead of some random direction...  Last but not least, the Christmas Event is no longer available, so hopefully you got a few Santa Suits while they were available.

There is now a new updater that will be more efficient and easier to use than ever before!  When there is a new version, you will be alerted upon opening Cidade-Online, and you simply choose to download it and it will do the rest for you!  When it's complete, you will be able to login as normal.

In order to implement this new updater, it is necessary to reinstall Cidade.  You must unintall your current version and download this new version here.  This update also addresses some bugs with the MAIL system, talking to NPCs, smithing gold bars, and more.  Also, the chances to level up after acquiring the needed experience have been drastically decreased, allowing you to level up much faster, to a point. 

Merry Christmas!  Hopefully the holidays go well for you this week.  For our part, we made a Christmas Event just for you!  In this event, you will be able to earn presents.  These can contain pieces of the new Santa Suit that will make you look like Santa.  There are other rewards as well, but we don't want to ruin the surprises!  How do you get these presents?  You can find out by logging in to Cidade....

Cidade's first minigame has arrived! Use your skills to stock up on as many supplies as you can within the given time. The higher your skills, the faster you can get supplies and the longer you can stay! At the end you can get a variety of rewards ranging from minor rewards such as gold coins to a Music Box of Skills. You also recieve points that you can use in a future shop to buy even more great rewards....

To get to Skill Stock, first get to Dark Village (If you're on the Sanctuary of Learning then you can talk to Captin Seadog to get there) and go to the right.  You can enter the house next to the Dark Portal (which doesn't do anything as of now...) where the minigame starts. To enter the house, simply double-click on the door.

This update has been building since the end of July and you can tell from the size of it! There are so many things packed into this update that you will definitely have to "read more" to see everything. But even then we can't guarantee we've caught everything that's in this update because there's so much in it that it would be easy to miss something.

One of the main things included in this update is the introduction to multiple classes! Before you could only look like a Warrior, but now you can choose to be a Warrior, Archer, or Mage! Every class has unique equipment and abilities that may make the decision hard to make, but no matter which one you pick, they are sure to have something that you like! And if you ever feel like switching classes, all you have to do is obtain a weapon specific to the class you want (ex. when you equip a bow, you will turn into the archer).

After choosing a class you then can choose Beginning Equipment. This equipment is only available to beginners and will give you a head start at fighting evil monsters when they come (their presence is closer than you may think...) and you don't always have to be the Warrior now. As you enter the game, you will notice that you move around with arrow keys instead of the mouse. This will make it easier to move and give more availability with the mouse (that will be used soon).

Also, to maximize your playing experience, you can now minimize the interfaces! This means that you can minimize the side panel if you aren't using it and move the chat off of your playing area! Your viewing area will be largely increased, making it more fun to play Cidade. To minimize the interfaces, simply click on the icon of the interface you are in (Inventory, Quest Log, or Skills Page).
